Sound of silence
Conceptual description:

First is a sign , a pictogram belong to human only, to communicate and it especially works in a visual distance with a same background of group’s knowledge, a tribal for example.

Next, a system of signs is established with their own structure creating a language and unique syllables. And logical composition, a sign – grammar, will transfer a message from one to other.

By this way, writing skill supports strongly a distance communication, when there’s limitation of voice but silence works through pre-determined signs.

Hence, hidden value of writing is the sound, more exactly is a pronunciation, a syllable, a correct sound expresses a beauty and treasure of human mind. Sound do not exists in a text, script but it’s an organic primary unit of writing which no meaning truly expresses without correspondence syllables.

In this museum, design transforms word’s signs-script into basic architectural elements:

Structure + Dark + Light.

Writing’s signs play a structure in form of double walls introducing natural light in between them as well, a tube of light. These double walls are anchored surrounding a courtyard with water will role a new environment and filter a natural light for below displaying.

The main exhibition space is structured underground. It was considered as a great hidden values of writing, language. This main space connects with ground lobby level by convenience ramp at an opposite side of main entry.

Underground also combines a special exhibition and main storage.

Story:

At museum visitors will experience themselves by walking through contrast zones of

Dark and Light, of Sound and Silence, discover a fundamental of writing, allude temple’s sense.

Enter a hall, an open space with water courtyard will lead a visitor enjoy a journey. Courtyard is surrounded by double walls’composition with multi-connected directions themselves, a first sign experience. These directions were defined by special buildings of contextual site as: Tribowl, bridge, landmark tower South-East park, highrise residences and others.

Following the ramp, space is slowly down to the dark. A special exhibition was placed as transitional space between ground lobby hall and main underground exhibition. A courtyard of natural light will encourage a displaying for this space.

Next to the special exhibition is main space of 10 meters height with unique space of dot skylight system and tube of light. Dot skylights were filtered through water surface above and create a moveable atmosphere of dark and light, express meaningful a quality of signs-double wall light structure.
